Making Magic

Hello!

I appreciate the opportunity to be considered to work with you. Below are a few samples of recent work I thought was relevant to share—with what I know about what you are looking for. I have worked on motion projects across so many different channels and executions lately, if these aren’t relevant, I would love the chance to show others or chat further about it all.

As you’ll see, my background has primarily been in advertising, and in before my LA and now NYC life I was a CD at a scrappy 25-person agency in the Midwest where I always had to roll my sleeves up and make. My ECD there was previously Head of Creative for Digital Kitchen so we always took a motion-first approach to campaigns.

I’ve done at one time or another every single part of the process from animation, compositing, roto, editing, sound design, titles, color, etc.—in addition to having my art/creative direction background. I’m very comfortable with post-production workflows and honestly can jump in and work in nearly any capacity. Though I haven’t worked in entertainment directly, I’m confident a lot of my experience translates and I would love the opportunity to. It’s where my passion lies.

You can find a link to my resumé here and you’ll see I run my own business and also now work full-time for my former client. While both are creatively challenging and very rewarding in their own ways— working two very full-time jobs concurrently for the past 2+ years has made me realize that I very much want to focus where I’m most passionate.

Thanks so much for your time and look forward to talking more.
Ryan

Back Market

Tech Reborn

This was a motion project just completed and ran through the holidays all around New York City and social. My client provided me with the illustrations and the copy and I concepted and executed across a range of media. There were 57 unique placements with alt messaging and rotations for all including creating forced-perspective 3D digital OOH.

Wheels Up

App Launch Video & DOOH

These are two of the many projects I did for Wheels Up last year.

First is a video to show off the redesign of their app. I was hired by an agency to concept and animate the entire piece. The only assets they provided were the brand assets, previously shot video content, a log in to the app, and a script. The edit, animation, compositing, app animations, sound design, and color were done by me.

Second is one of the many digital OOH animated executions I did for them last year. This particular one was a takeover on the Sunset Strip in LA during SuperBowl weekend. They provided me their TV spot footage and I chopped it up and composited it together adding animations to bring it to life in this medium.

HopCat

The Inappropriate Cat

Below are two of my favorite videos from a much larger campaign for a brewpub chain across the Midwest called HopCat. This was created by my previous agency but I was CD plus did editing, compositing, animation, and color work on them all.

Mercedes-Benz

Interior Revolution

This was an animated video I did for the Mercedes-Benz team to show off their concept art for their self-driving electric flagship interiors concept at the Detroit and Munich auto shows. This is another example where they gave me nothing but their sketches and brand assets and asked me to take it from concept through completion.

Prudential

Breaking Barriers Series

Here are two examples in a series of videos I recently completed for Prudential. I was both an art director and FX editor on them. Working with our editor on story, titling work, compositing, removing blemishes and logos, etc.
